Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 28, 2026
This plain-language summary explains how smeeful ("we") handles information when you use our website. It is not legal advice. If you have questions, contact us using the email associated with your account or the site operator.
What we collect
- Account information — such as email address, name or pseudonym, profile details you choose to add, and your role (viewer, expert, or admin).
- Content you submit — messages, poll votes, viewer questions, and similar activity in discussion rooms.
- Usage analytics — sign-in events and room page views (including when you browse without signing in).
Approximate location
For product analytics we may record an approximate city, region/state, country, and approximate coordinates (latitude/longitude) derived from your network connection when you sign in or open a room. Coordinates are used only for an admin-only usage map. We do not store your raw IP address for this purpose, and we do not use precise GPS location.
How we use information
- To operate the service (accounts, rooms, discussions, polls, and related features).
- To understand where and how the product is used (admin analytics).
- To secure the service and prevent abuse (for example, bans).
Who can see analytics
Sign-in counts, room view stats, and location aggregates are available only to site administrators. Experts and viewers do not see other people’s analytics dashboards.
Accounts, cookies, and sessions
Authentication is handled through our hosting and database providers. We use cookies or similar storage to keep you signed in and to protect your session. Email for signup and password reset is sent through our email provider.
Retention
We keep account and content data while your account is active and the service operates. Analytics events (including approximate location) are retained for product analytics unless we change our practices and update this page.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will change when we do.
